Shevington community Pharmacy is a surgery-based pharmacy located in Shevington village and is part of the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan in Greater Manchester. The selected pre-registration trainee will work alongside the pharmacist manager and will work both in the dispensary and on the counter in order to gain the competencies required when qualified.
We offer excellent pre-registration training in all aspects of pharmacy practice, throughout your pre-registration placement. We want to prepare you for the ever changing, extended role that the pharmacist will face. The student will have the opportunity to also work with other healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurse practitioners, triage nurses, practice nurses, and may also be able to sit in on certain clinics in the surgery.
The training will be carried out using the ProPharmace pre-registration programme, which offers a structured pre-registration student programme to supplement the training students receive within their pharmacy.
The programme is designed to provide students undertaking their pre-registration year within independent community pharmacy, support and development based around their experience and professional development.
The programme consists of a series of workshops throughout the year which are designed to help students apply their degree knowledge to a community pharmacy setting as well as a mock paper exam.
Can offer international students a 12 months placement on a tier 5 visa.
